Use PROLibraries as your learning management system (LMS)? FUSE has got you covered. PROLibraries is owned by Digitell. Consider this scenario: a visitor comes to your site to research a topic they need to speak about at a regional meeting. They conduct a search using FUSE which tells them ‘here is some professional development we have that matches the term(s) you entered.’ The visitor wasn’t considering LMS content in their research. Now they can include it in their talk or share it with attendees as a resource. This is one reason we love searching/federating LMS content.
FUSE connects to your SAGE implementation so we can index your journal content. This is so important since most organizations have this content behind lock and key or expose (or search) only an abstract of the content. FUSE indexes the content in its entirety so your members can discover what it has to offer. If they’re not signed-in, however, when selecting a protected search result they’ll be prompted to do so. Talk about the value of membership!
Fun fact: Sitecore was born in Denmark. As one would expect with a leading content management system, the available API is robust and well documented. Nothing is worse than running a worldclass CMS like Sitecore only to weaken it with search that is needlessly complex or doesn’t give your users complete visibility into all of your content. Federated search with FUSE is the icing on the cake.
Sitefinity has roots back to Telerik - for all you .NET fans out there - which was all gobbled up by Progress Software, a $400mm company headquartered in Massachusetts, in 2016. A web service must be configured for FUSE (or you can use an existing one) - docs.sitefinity.com/for-developers-client-side-programming-and-web-services.
The artist formerly known as Small World Community was acquired by Personify back in 2016. Sometime between then and now it was renamed Personify Community but you’ll still see lots of references to it as ‘Small World,’ including its API which we use to get at your data.
It goes without saying, indexing your community is absolutely a key part to the FUSE value proposition — prospects (or not-very-engaged members) won’t know those great conversations are taking place otherwise.
One of the things we absolutely love about FUSE is including Tweets among your search results. Some organizations complain about members not being interested in social media - FUSE is a great way to push social media to them and leverages the investment you make in maintaining your social media presence.
We’ll use Twitter’s API to index your tweets. First, you’ll need to apply for a developer account (don’t worry, it’s painless). Of course, being Twitter, the API team has its own handle (by nerds, for nerds).
