Kentico has reached Gartner’s magic quadrant for web content management every year since it first appeared in 2015. We have a web service we’ve written so FUSE can index your unstructured content. For everything else, we use Kentico’s API. While Kentico’s out of the box search is fine, most organizations need to reach beyond and that’s where FUSE comes in.
Widely known in Europe website management platform acquired by Accel-KKR in 2015 and merged with Ektron. We use Epi’s API to get at most of your structured content but, like Ektron, have a custom web service we use to reach the unstructured stuff.
Of note, Episerver has its own enterprise search called Find. Find is extraordinarily expensive in terms of licensing, development required for it to federate, and hosting. FUSE Search has the same features (and more) but is much more flexible (i.e. plays nicely with others) and cost-effective.

Unless you already have one, we'd write a webservice that's custom to your content (e.g. Smart Forms) using Ektron's API. We have a few of these under our belt so it’s more a matter of tweaking what we’ve got. As with any content connector, all of our work is included under our fixed fee structure.

Are you using Drupal Views to build-out your content (at least the content you want to index)? If so, the best option for Fuse to connect to it is the Views Datasource module. If you’re not using Views, please let us know what you’re using so we can suggest something.
